J'ai passé un mois en Inde à effectuer un travail photographique pour le livre Inde (Minerva.) J'ai pris du temps pour circuler en Inde du Sud à travers des villes très denses ou retirées. J'ai pu assister à un mariage dans la famille qui m'accueillait pour la réalisation de cet ouvrage, la tradition indoue admettant le mariage entre deux confessions différentes. Justement, c'est le sujet qui m'intéresse : les différences culturelles, de langage, de quotidiens porteurs de connaissances et de sens. Partager l'intimité de la cuisine est un vrai moment d'échanges. Ce fut le cas avec cette famille dans laquelle j'ai vécu des moments d'une grande confiance. J'ai ressenti le besoin de filmer pour garder les traces de ce temps plein de sagesse.

I spent a month in India on a photography project for the book India (Minerva). I took the time to travel around Southern India, visiting cities that were both dense and isolated. As part of the making of this work, I was able to attend the wedding of a member of my host family, which bore witness to the Hindu tradition allowing marriage between individuals of different faiths. Indeed, it is precisely this subject that interests me: cultural, linguistic and daily differences that bring knowledge and meaning. To share the intimacy of the kitchen is a true moment of exchange. Such was the case with this family, with whom I experienced moments of great trust. I felt the need to film all this in order to record this period full of wisdom.
